Dear Diary,
I'm SO sorry I haven't written since Saturday! I have so much to tell you!!!!
Love, Ryan
So, Sunday was a blast. It was a non-running day, so I needed to do something active. Thankfully, after church a big group of people went up to Devil's Lake for the afternoon. It was pretty windy and not all that hot, but the swimming was still great. I'm finding out that, no matter what, there's always someone you know that is awesome at things that you're not. I was joking about swimming across the lake and it turns out there were like 3 people who would have done it. My friend Sarah is a long-distance swimmer, so she was all about it. And George and Cari just left for a long time swimming to who knows where. Then I went out with the beautiful Yuliya and she just kept going out farther so I was like, "Hey, so, I'm just gonna hang back here. You go ahead. I'll, uh, keep it warm back here and whatnot..."
It was an awesome day with good food, great friends, and a lot of fun. Sam had a ton of fun in the water, too, and even tried to learn how to skip rocks with me.
The only bummer was right before we left, I stubbed my toe HARD on a rock in the lake. "Oh, no! Now I won't be able to run!" Duh duh duhhhhhh.
Then yesterday, Monday, it was time to start this week's running. I looked at the schedule and thought, "That's it? Cake." It called for running 1/2 mile, walking a 1/4, running 3/4, walking a 1/4 and finish with another 1/2. I can do that in my sleep. Right?
Well, I did it, but it was a lot harder than I expected. I got a little overconfident, I think. So, I was a little disappointed at the difficulty I had, but there's still a month to go, so I'll be ok.
And as of this morning, I'm down a little over 14 pounds. Delicious.
