Don't forget my wet naps.

Momentous occasion! I went to Famous Dave's and didn't gorge myself!

Oh, and I ran two miles today.

The schedule called for me to run two miles straight today (took yesterday off), but I was fairly certain that wasn't going to happen, so I modified the plan. My goal was to run a mile, take a water break, and then run another.

I don't believe I've ever run a mile straight in my life. They used to make us do it at school, but being who I am...I'm pretty sure I never did it. I was less than cooperative at times. That sounds nicer than I was. Oh, well.

So, I used my new inhaler (got it yesterday and used it for the first time today), turned on the Gomers, and started my run. I'm happy to report that the first mile was (mostly) a piece of cake! Never stopped and finished in under 13 minutes.

I ended up walking a lap (1/4 mile) and then starting again for my second mile. It was significantly more difficult and, unfortunately, I had to walk 100m at the end of the 3rd lap, but then I ran the 4th to finish the second mile. I was mad about the 100m walk, but even with that I finished the 2nd mile in 11:50. How did I run the 2nd mile faster, even with the short walking break?

So, overall, I'm really happy with today's run. Basically ran two miles! Most in my life. I feel like this 5k is really doable now. I think I have 5 more weeks to the race, so I've got plenty of time.

My weight loss is going really well, too. I've been eating great and, obviously, working out/running and have lost about 13 pounds now. I can fit into my cool shirts again. Today my friend Chris took me to Famous Dave's and instead of getting more food than I could eat, I got just enough (and saved some money in the process). 4 ribs, corn on the cob, cornbread muffin and mashed potatoes. Nummy.

Lastly, Sam is BACK and he had his first t-ball game today. He did great! He played first and the pitcher position (since it's t-ball). He had two great hits, too. Although, his first one was hit so hard, it actually backfired. It went RIGHT to the one kid on their team that knew what they were doing, so Sam got out. He was really upset about it, but we kept telling him it was a great hit and he cheered up. It really was a great hit, too.

Ok, I guess that will do for today.
