Goin' to Arizona...I Wish.

No running today. Played three games of 21 with Cecil. Scored way more points, but only won the first game. Oh, well. I need to learn how to not get tipped and finish strong and smart.

I'm kind of freaking out about two things: this week's running schedule and my son, Sam, going to Arizona for the week to visit his cousins. Running first:

Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then:

  • Jog 800m (or 5 minutes)
  • Walk 400m (or 3 minutes)
  • Jog 800m (or 5 minutes)
  • Walk 400m (or 3 minutes)
  • Jog 800m (or 5 minutes)

Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then:

  • Jog 1.2km (or 8 minutes)
  • Walk 800m (or 5 minutes)
  • Jog 1.2km (or 8 minutes)
Brisk five-minute warmup walk,
then jog 3.2km(or 20 minutes) with no walking.

The first day seems ok, but the next two have me worried. Actually, the more I look at it, the more it seems like a typo. Why would it jump from 1.2 to 3.2? I need to look at this more carefully, I think.

Then there's Sam, my not-quite 6-year old. His Oma and Opa (Julie's parents) are taking him to Flagstaff, AZ for the week. He's excited, for sure, but he also says, "I'm kind of sad. I'll miss you a lot." I have a lot of feelings about it. Happy that he gets to go on this adventure, confident that his Oma and Opa and Julie's brother and his family will all take great care of him, but also scared because I can't protect him, sad that I'll miss his first trip on a plane, and brokenhearted...because I'm going to miss him so much. I am excited for him, though. I know he's going to love it.

I get to take them to the airport tomorrow. We'll see how that affects my run.
