Old lady, little girl, no shoes...and I'm feeling good.

When I got to the track today the oval was empty. Just me and the air. And then this lady and little girl showed up.

They were running laps and having fun; the little girl nipping at the heels of the older lady like a young pup chasing her mother. It was heartwarming. But, as I got closer I noticed...neither of them had shoes on.

Show-offs.

Today felt really good. I've decided to do the "Couch to 5k" running schedule and I've timed it out so I run my first 5k a week before the race. Therefore, I ran workout 2 for week 3. I was a little wary of skipping ahead a little bit, but...honestly...it was pretty easy. I actually ran farther on Tuesday! This is what I did today:

Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then do two repetitions of the following:

  • Jog 200 metres (or 90 seconds)
  • Walk 200 metres (or 90 seconds)
  • Jog 400 metres (or 3 minutes)
  • Walk 400 metres (or three minutes)
The second 400 was a little tough, but not nearly as difficult as I had anticipated. Stretched and felt really good walking back to my car.

Today I'm hopeful.
