Quick hits:
Good run this morning.
Even though I woke up at about 5am and was in and out of sleep until 6am, I slept pretty well. Our friends Anthony and Erin came over last night, which was awesome. They left pretty early (9:15), though, to go have s’mores (jealous), which was both sad, but good for sleepy. Whoa, that was a lot of commas.
There were two times during the run where I was tempted to walk. I even took a couple steps and then muttered, “Stop it!” and started running again.
It was the longest I’ve run yet (2.75 miles) and it went pretty quick. Under 28 minutes, I think. I’m pretty sure my goal is going to be under 30 minutes for the 5k. I have 16 more days to train! I think it’s doable.
Today’s SYSK was about WWII Japanese stragglers. These were men (and some women) who were oftentimes unaware that the war was over and continued to live in the jungle as if it was still going on. Kind of like how I live every day.
Also, I love my TOMS shoes, but I probably shouldn’t have worn them after my run. It’d be nice to have a little more cushion right now. At least they look sweet.
Sadly, the Hamm’s can was finally gone this morning. Sorry to end on such a bummer, but…that’s life.
